Welcome back Brides… to the Bellamme Blog!

This month we’re talking directly to all the brides out there who struggle with self-doubt. As stylists, brides often tell us that they are ‘terrible at making decisions’ or that they ‘overthink everything’. We see you and most importantly we understand you. That’s why we’re here to empower you, support you and help you find your dream dress.

Let’s start with the word that tends to follow you through life…indecisive.

Whether it’s how you describe yourself or how your loved ones describe you, we hear it all the time. Every bride worries that they won’t be able to choose their dress. And we get it!

It’s a huge decision…

But here’s the question we want you to ask yourself… Who Knows You, Better Than You!

It might sound like a cliché, but if you take a look at your everyday life, you may be surprised just how true it is. Every single day you make decisions without even thinking about them. You choose what to wear, what to eat, how to decorate your home, and most importantly who you want to spend the rest of your life with.

You are doing all these things day in day out, AND you are doing them so well! Not only that, but you’ve probably already made some huge wedding decisions too… you may have picked your venue, secured your makeup artist and scouted a photographer already. Give yourself the credit you deserve for making all of these choices!

You’re doing an amazing thing, so if you haven’t heard it enough already… good job!

Being a bride isn’t always easy and wedding planning is full of decisions to be made. We know the dress can be nerve racking but in choosing to come to Bellamme… you’re already halfway there. Once you step foot into the boutique we’re in this together! We will do all the heavy lifting (both physically and mentally).

So if you ever find yourself thinking “I just can’t decide”. Then trust that you are not alone but you can overcome it! We know that there are thousands of brides out there feeling this way, and as far as we are concerned, you are not to blame…we think social media has a lot to answer for.

Before you’ve even stepped foot into your appointment, you may have already heard countless negative bridal stories, either online or even just from someone you know. It can feel like everywhere you turn someone has a story to tell. Whether it’s a dress that didn’t fit, a train that got trampled or a strapless gown that fell down. Just hearing of these experiences could worry the bravest of brides…and we get it! We often say that we would feel the same way, but we can reassure you that the reality is that most brides have a magical experience when finding their dress.

It isn’t a given that you will encounter challenges when on your bridal journey!

Actually, it can, and should be, an incredible moment full of joy and excitement.

Like we said before, as stylists it’s our role to ensure that this happens…so PLEASE take that pressure off of yourself and pass it over to us.

So next time you find yourself down the Tiktok rabbit hole of bridal horror, remember… everyone’s experience is different. You are right at the start of your bridal journey, the pages are blank, it’s your story to write and yours alone.
